Staff at a new attraction in Renfrewshire have been ‘keeping-up’ with their training and development by completing an accredited Food Hygiene programme through Reid Kerr College.
Twelve members of staff from Xscape’s brand new Soccer Circus venue were recently awarded their Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS), elementary food hygiene certificates. Staff completed the 1-day training programme in-house at the Soccer Circus venue and are now fully certificated to work with food and hygiene operations around the workplace.
The elementary food hygiene certificate comprises a number of detailed food hygiene subjects:
- preventing food poisoning
- personal hygiene
- food premises & equipment
- food hygiene law
Cameron Watt, General Manager with Soccer Circus added, “it was fantastic that we could access this course locally through Reid Kerr College. It’s really important to us to work in partnership with as many local businesses and organisations. Hopefully when it comes to re-training we can return to Reid Kerr College in the future.”
The brainchild of soccer legend Kevin Keegan, Soccer Circus opened its doors to the public in October this year, offering football skills games using real balls but in an interactive and fully automated setting.
