A group of Renfrewshire Council employees got together recently to record a Christmas CD for two local charities, the ACCORD Hospice in Paisley and St. Vincent’s Hospice in Howwood.
The group, named by themselves as the “Council Crackers”, have made a two track Christmas CD. The charity CD will be available, on a donation basis, from the Accord reception shop at Hawkhead Road and St. Vincent’s Hospice shop outlets throughout Renfrewshire and Barrhead from next week. All proceeds received will go directly to the two hospices.
A spokesperson for the two hospices that stand to benefit from the CD sales said: “This is a very welcome initiative on the part of the 'Council Crackers', and we hope that people will support our work by buying their CD – it’s a real Christmas Cracker !”
The local trade union branch UNISON put up the money for the staff to make the CD. Splash Productions Complex, a well known music company based in Johnstone, recorded and mixed the CD, and provided technical support to the Group. Chow Productions of Cardross have copied the CDs for the group at a special charity rate.
