Renfrewshire Council’s Advice Works has launched a new pilot out of hours service to offer local residents advice on their money management.
The special money advice service 0141 887 7632 will now operate a late night every Thursday evening till the extended time of 8pm and Saturday mornings between the hours of 9am and 1pm.
Councillor Tommy Williams, convener of Renfrewshire Council’s community and family care policy board, said: “We are aware that in today’s society many people can get into difficulty with money and debt. That is why we have decided to extend the services of our Advice Works team and offer a new confidential out of hours service specifically focusing on the issue of money. Our team are fully trained to offer impartial and helpful advice on a variety of money topics. So I would urge anyone who is experiencing difficulties, or those who just have questions on their money management, to get in touch and not leave it before their problems get out of hand.”
The out of hours pilot service, which has received funding from the Scottish Executive’s Financial Inclusion Fund, will run till March, 2007.
The Advice Works offices will continue to operate their normal surgeries in Linwood, Johnstone, Renfrew and Paisley supporting local residents with welfare and benefits issues as well as money advice.
