NHS Argyll & Clyde has met the national inpatient/day case and out patient targets set by the Scottish Executive for the end of 2005.
The latest figures as at December 2005 highlight that:
- No patient with a guarantee for treatment waited more than six months for inpatient/day case treatment
- No patient with a guarantee for treatment waited longer than six months for a new outpatient appointment
Neil Campbell, Chief Executive of NHS Argyll & Clyde, said:
"I am delighted that NHS Argyll & Clyde has met the inpatient/day case and out patient targets set by the Scottish Executive for the end of 2005.
“We actually achieved this target in March 2005 - a full 9 months early – and with the exception of a small number of patients have sustained this position throughout the rest of the year.
“Achieving this target is good news for patients across Argyll and Clyde and is also a recognition of the hard work and dedication of staff who have worked tirelessly to achieve this goal.
