Lost VC holder is honoured by provosts from East and West
Renfrewshire's Provost, Celia Lawson, and the City of Edinburgh's Lord Provost, George Grubb, laid wreaths on the grave of Samuel Evans, a Crimean War veteran who won the Victoria Cross for his bravery, at a ceremony in Piershill Cemetery, Edinburgh.
Ombudsman's Commentary November 2006
The SPSO November Commentary has been published. This confirms that the Ombudsman has laid 29 reports before the Scottish Parliament, 14 relate to the local government government sector, 9 to health, 4 to housing (not council), 1 to the Scottish Executive and 1 multi-agency.
